After the profoundly emotional and intense experience that is Kilmainham Gaol, we disband for a few hours – exploring and discovering – and come together for our third group meal. We meet Jan Rutherford’s School of Business Maymester class (they have just arrived in Dublin and we are leaving in the morning) for a fun dinner in the Temple Bar District at Gallagher’s Boxty House Restaurant. We’re a large group – nine of us and sixteen of them. We all pile in downstairs into a small, cozy space with benches along two sides of the room. It’s nice to be able to meet some of the students and to talk with my pal Jan (it’s ironic, we muse, that we’re so busy at home that we have to come to a foreign country to be able to have a visit!) and Shereen (along on this trip as Jan’s assistant, and working on her MBA at Regis). Students love the food and the conviviality and it’s a nice way to say goodbye to Dublin. We’re all excited for Belfast!
